What relevance does an ancient God have in modern times? Does faith offer real substance to the busy but sometimes empty pace of suburban life? These are the questions we're asking. And these are the questions that God is asking us to figure out with him. And God has given us some clues for the journey. The four things that anchor us and guide us in all we do are Faith, Community, Justice and Witness. These four things encapsulate, albeit in an imprecise way, everything that God hopes for us and the world. It begins with Faith because it all begins when we take that first step toward God, entrusting our life to him. But this is not a solo journey, which is why God calls us not only to himself, but into Community. Because not only is it more enjoyable with other folks on the journey, that's the only way we can do it -- we can't do it alone. But God has not only a plan for us, but for the world as well, and so he calls us to join him in praying and working for Justice. And ultimately, to bear Witness to all the goodness that God is and that God brings through Jesus. OUR CREED The core of our faith is best summarized in the Apostle's Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended to the dead. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and is seated on the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
